tools for small businesses

Hello there! Starting a business can be confusing and time-consuming. I spent hours researching on the best software and tools to use for my business, and I'm sharing them with you so you can skip the guesswork and focus on growing your business.

Tools

Cricut Explore Air 2, Mint

I use this to cut my soap boxes when I first started (and still do sometimes now). This is perfect when you only need a small quantity and want to customise different boxes.

Cricut Adhesive Cutting Mat, 12 x 12-Inch

This should come with your Cricut but you need to replace it every few months. I tried using glue spray to make it sticky again but I didn't like the results, best way is to get a new mat.

Cricut Basic Set, Mint

Depending on how intricate your cut is, this tool can be very useful to remove small bits of paper on your mat.

Thermal Printer

A thermal printer is an absolute time saver, especially when you have hundreds of labels to print. (Manifesting this for you!) You can also use a thermal printer to print customised labels for your packaging!

Software

Easyship

I use this software to print my shipping labels as Shopify in Asia does not have the option to do so. I tried a few shipping platforms but I like Easyship best.

Klaviyo

They have a drag and drop system which makes it easy to create newsletters quickly. It's intuitive and not as laggy as other apps I've tried.

Packaging

I love noissue for their eco-friendly packaging and low MOQ. Branded packaging can really elevate your customers' opening experience and help your brand stand out.

Paper Stock

Fancy Papers have a wide range of different types of paper, including FSC-certified paper. They sell in single sheets so it's perfect if you'd like to purchase a few different kinds for testing.
